ENGINEERED FOR SAFETY

A Modular Davit System for Safe Façade Access and Building Maintenance

With its innovative design and unmatched versatility, DavitPro introduces a modular concept in safe building maintenance. The system offers a comprehensive range of types and styles to suit various roof configurations, from simple fixed-base installations to continuous rail systems and anchor-mounted solutions.

DavitPro comprises a davit base fixed back into the building structure with a removable davit arm that deviates over the edge. Ropes connect to two attachment points at the rear of the davit bases, meaning workers are anchored to the fabric of the building rather than temporary anchor points. Classified as a non-deforming Type A anchor device, DavitPro delivers the reliability and performance that rope access professionals demand.

Whether you're specifying for a new build or retrofitting an existing structure, DavitPro's modular approach provides the flexibility to create the perfect façade access solution for your project.

Lightweight Modular Design

Each DavitPro arm component weighs under 20kg, reducing manual handling and making transport between locations easier. The system breaks down into three compact sections and is manufactured from T6-grade aluminium, delivering professional strength without adding unnecessary installation burden.

Integrated Rope Protection

Built-in rollers at all working angles protect both live and backup lines as they pass through the system. This reduces rope abrasion, the leading risk identified by IRATA, and helps extend rope life while ensuring smooth, controlled operation.

Tool-Free Assembly

Locking location pins with O-rings remove the need for tools, allowing fast, error-free assembly on site. DavitPro installs quickly without additional equipment, helping teams work more efficiently while maintaining safe installation practices.

Proactive CDM Approach

Cast in base options remove the need for drilling, reducing exposure to concrete dust and vibration hazards such as HAVS and CTA. Installing bases during the concrete pour minimises work at height and supports a safer, more efficient CDM-led installation process.

A PERMANENT SOLUTION

Safe Anchorage for Rope Access and Fall Protection

DavitPro systems are classified as Type A non-deforming anchor devices per BS 8610:2017, with static load ratings of 12kN minimum (EN 795:2012 single-user fall arrest) and 21kN (BS 8610:2019 rope access applications when paired). Rope connections to two structural attachment points at the rear of the davit bases ensure workers are anchored directly to the building fabric. Each installation includes project-specific structural calculations confirming load path integrity and substrate adequacy.

All components are manufactured in our EN 1090:2018 certified facility with full material traceability. Davit arms utilise T6 grade aluminium alloy 6082 (minimum yield 260 MPa), whilst sockets are Grade 304 stainless steel with 5mm wall thickness. Independent third-party testing by DEKRA (Notified Body 0158) confirms compliance with EN 795:2012 and BS 8610:2019, with test report PH/5_16_0102 documenting 21kN load sustained for 3 minutes minimum with deflection <50mm.

Key Technical Parameters:

  • Load Ratings & Safety
  • 12kN single-user (EN 795:2012), 21kN rope access paired configuration (BS 8610:2019). Max user 140kg including equipment. Safety factors: 2:1 yield, 3:1 ultimate. Max deflection 50mm at rated load. Test duration: 3 minutes minimum at 21kN without failure or permanent deformation >10%.
  • Materials & Manufacturing
  • Arms: Aluminium 6082-T6 (σy ≥260 MPa), each component <20kg. Sockets: SS304 (EN 1.4301), Ø76.2mm ID, 5mm wall. Bases: S275JR steel, 10mm thick, hot-dip galvanised ≥85µm (C4 corrosion >15 years). Polyurethane liner (Shore A 90-95) enables ±45° rotation. Fasteners: Grade 8.8 M16 minimum. All welders coded, manufactured to EN 1090:2018.
  • Dimensions & Configuration
  • Standard heights: 300/400/500mm FSL. Bases: Ø90mm CHS (250×250×10mm plate) or Ø114mm CHS (300×300×10mm plate). 4 No. M16 fixings per base. 2 No. attachment points: welded lugs (Ø25mm), removable D-rings (22kN), or anchor holes. Arm reach: 1000mm horizontal. Working height: 1800mm. Total weight: <60kg (three sections). Integrated 50mm rollers eliminate rope abrasion.
  • Compliance & Substrates
  • EN 795:2012, CEN TS 16415:2013, BS 8610:2017/2019, EN 1090-1/2, LOLER 1998. Concrete: C25/30 minimum (fck=25 N/mm²), 150-170mm embedment, 150mm edge distance. Steel: S275 minimum, 12mm thick, 8mm fillet welds minimum. Operational temp: -20°C to +60°C. Inspection: Pre-use visual, 12-monthly detailed per LOLER/BS 8610 Annex B.
