INNOVATIVE ENGINEERING

The Ultimate Rigid Rail System for Modern Architecture

Unlike cable lifelines that sag under load, RailPro stays perfectly aligned. Its rigid aluminium rail and precision-engineered joints provide smooth, continuous protection, even around corners and complex facades.

The advanced trolley system glides effortlessly along the rail, giving operatives uninterrupted movement and consistent fall protection from start to finish.

  • Seamless movement
  • Precision joining kits prevent trolley interference, so users pass smoothly over every rail connection.
  • Reduced fall distances
  • The rigid rail minimises deflection, meaning lower clearance requirements and safer arrest performance.
  • Internal & External options
  • Choose RailPro External for exposed facades or RailPro Internal for concealed, architecturally sensitive installations.
  • Precise alignment system
  • Mechanically fastened underside joining kits prevent trolley interference, ensuring seamless movement across every connection point.
  • Even load distribution
  • Forces are spread along the rail, reducing stress on individual anchors and extending system life.
  • Architectural integration
  • Concealed fixings with anodised or powder-coated finishes (any RAL colour) blend into the building design.

Superior Load Distribution

RailPro spreads loads evenly along the rigid rail, reducing stress on individual fixings and enabling lighter, more efficient anchoring. Tested to BS 8610:2017 for two-user loading across every three-metre span.

Effortless Trolley System

Eight precision wheels run inside the rail to deliver smooth, hands-free movement. Unlike cable systems, users can travel the full façade without stopping or disconnecting.

Architectural Discretion

Concealed fixings and custom finishes let RailPro blend into the building. The internal profile hides within cladding, while the external rail can be powder-coated to suit any design.

Minimal Deflection, Maximum Safety

The rigid rail dramatically reduces fall-arrest deflection, making it ideal where clearance is limited and cable sag would be unsafe, delivering consistent protection with no compromise.

VERSATILE APPLICATIONS

Engineered for Both Fall Arrest and Rope Access Applications

RailPro supports both fall arrest and rope access work on a single system. In fall arrest mode, one troller delivers continuous protection as users move along the rail. For rope access, two independent trolleys can be used. Once for the working line and one of backup, providing built-in redundancy for suspended operations.

Where RailPro is used:

  • High-rise facades
  • Efficient window cleaning and external maintenance on tall buildings.
  • Tall internal atriums
  • Safe access across large open spaces without intrusive support structures.
  • Architectural features
  • Protect delicate design elements while ensuring worker safety during inspection and maintenance.
  • Large glazed areas
  • Streamline cleaning and inspection of extensive glass surfaces.
  • Bridge soffits
  • Safe access beneath bridge decks for inspection and repair work.
  • Overhead applications
  • Suspended fall arrest using Gallows Brackets in industrial environments.

COMPONENTS

Precision-Engineered Components for Reliable Performance

Rail Sections

Rigid aluminium rails supplied in six-metre lengths with a silver anodised finish as standard. Powder coating is available, with anchor points typically spaced every three metres for optimal performance.

Joining Kits

Precision joining hardware keeps the rail perfectly aligned and structurally continuous across every connection, ensuring smooth trolley travel and reliable fall protection.

Trolleys/Travellers

Eight stainless-steel wheels with individual bearings glide inside the rail for smooth, hands-free movement. Attachment points can be set vertically or horizontally, with optional parking locks for work positioning.

End Pins/End Push Pins

Safety pins prevent trolleys from being removed unintentionally and slow controlled transitions between rail sections.

90-Degree Corners

Standard and custom curved sections allow the rail to follow façades, corners and architectural features down to a 600mm radius.

Universal Rail Anchors

Versatile anchors for vertical, horizontal ad overhead installations. Available as surface-mounted or cast-in options in stainless steel, with multiple height choices.

Gallows Brackets

Heavy-duty overhead supports for suspended access and industrial applications, acting as both structural anchors and rail fixing points.

FAQS

RailPro Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to the most common technical and practical questions about RailPro rigid rail systems.

Clearance requirements depend on system configuration, user weight, lanyard type, and anchor positioning. However, rigid rail systems typically require significantly less clearance than cable lifelines due to minimal deflection.

Unlike cable systems that can sag several metres under load, RailPro's rigid profile controls fall distance more predictably. This makes it suitable for low headroom envrionments, internal maintenance zones, plant rooms, and reas above machinery where clearance is limited.

A project-specific clearance calculation is always carried out to confirm suitability.

Yes. RailPro systems are engineered and installed in accordance with relevant UK and European standards for fall arrest systems, including EN 795, and BS 7883 where applicable.

All installations are supported by structural verification and certified calculations. Upon completion, documentation is provided to demonstrate compliance for duty holders, facilities managers, insurers, and HSE inspection purposes.

Yes. RailPro can be configured to support façade access, suspended maintenance platforms, and rope access applications, depending on project requirements.

Where davit bases or edge-mounted systems are not suitable, rigid rail systems provide an engineered overhead solution that allows controlled, predictable load transfer through the supporting structure.

Each application is assessed individually to confirm loading criteria and user requirements.

In a fall scenario, loads are transferred evenly along the rigid rail rather than being concentrated at end anchors. This reduces peak structural demand and limits excessive deflection.
Because the rail does not rely on tensioned cables, there is no sag or rebound effect. This improves fall predictability and helps control swing fall risk when designed correctly.

A full resuce plan must always be developed as part of the system design.

RailPro systems require periodic inspection in line with manufacturer guidance and relevant standards.
Unlike cable lifelines, rigid rails do not require re-tensioning or cable replacement. Inspections focus on fixings, structural integrity, trolley condition, and general system alignment.

Annual inspection and recertification is typically recommended, with frequency adjusted based on usage and environment.

Yes. Rigid rail systems are particularly effective in internal envrionments such as factories, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and plant rooms.
Because there is no cable sag, the system maintains consistent alignment and allows smooth trolley trabel without intereference from surrounding equipment.

It is also well suited to repetitive maintenance tasks where productivity and user comfort are important.

The supporting structure must be capable of safely transferring fall arrest loads into the building frame.

This may involve reinforced concrete slabs, structural steel beams, or engineered secondary steelwork. Load calculations are completed as part of the design process to confirm capacity and fixing strategy.

Where required, strengthening works or bespoke brackets can be engineered to ensure compliance.

Rigid rail systems provide continuous overhead protection along a defined route, whereas davit systems typically protect fixed access points.

RailPro is often selected where users need to move laterally while remaining connected, or where repeated repositioning or portable davits would be in inefficient.

The correct solution depends on access strategy, clearance constraints, and operational frequency.

Yes, subjec to design configuration. RailPro can be engineered to accommodate multiple users simultaneously, provided load criteria and spacing requirements are met.

System capacity is confirmed during design to ensure structural compliance and safe working limits.

Upon completion, clients receive:

- Structural calculations
- System drawings
- Installation certification
- User guidance
- Inspection and maintenance recommendations

This ensures the duty holder has full audit-ready compliance records.
