Stainless Steel vs Mild Steel & Galvanised Steel
What is a Davit?
A davit system is an engineered safety device that provides secure overhead anchorage for work at height and confined space operations. Using a structural support and pivoting arm, it create a reliable anchor point for safe access, emergency rescue and fall protection, significantly reducing the risk of serious or fatal injury.
LIFE-SAVING PERFORMANCE
Engineering Safety Into High-Risk Work at Height and Confined Space Operations
Working at height and in confined spaces exposes workers to some of the most serious risks on site. Falls remain one of the leading causes of workplace fatalities, while confined space incidents often become fatal when rescue is attempted without the right equipment. Davit systems directly address these risks by providing permanent, tested anchorage points that workers and emergency responders can rely on when it matters most.
To perform safely, every davit system must meet strict regulatory requirements, including BS 8610 for personal fall protection anchor systems, EN 795 for anchor devices, and where applicable, LOLER for lifting operations. These standards exist because failure is not an option, a correctly specified davit system is a life-saving investment in workforce protection.
At Safety Engineering Products, safety is non-negotiable. Our davit systems are ISO 9001 and EN 1090 accredited, independently tested by DEKRA, and engineered by specialists who understand that every specification ultimately protects a real person.
SAFETY AS A TOP PRIORITY
Safety When Using Davit Systems
Safety is paramount when using davit systems for building maintenance activities, so it's essential that they are installed and operated by trained professionals in compliance with relevant safety regulations and standards. Regular inspection and maintenance of the davit system is also critical to ensure its continued reliability and performance.
By prioritising safety and proper maintenance, davit systems can provide a safe and efficient solution for accessing and maintaining buildings at height. All davit systems should comply with current British and European standards to protect workers and meet regulatory requirements.

FAQS
DavitPro Frequently Asked Questions
A davit system provides a secure anchorage point for rope access, fall arrest, rescue, and façade maintenance work. It allows technicians to work safely at height while keeping loads transferred into the building structure.
DavitPro is rated to 12kN for single-user fall arrest in line with EN 795. When used in pairs for rope access, it achieves 21kN in accordance with BS 8610.
The maximum user weight is 140kg including equipment.
DavitPro complies with EN 795 and BS 8610 for fall arrest, rope access and resuce applications.
It is manufactured to EN 1090 structural standards and independently tested.
Yes. DavitPro is suitable for both retrofit and new-build projects.
Surface-mounted bases can be fixed to existing concrete or steel structures, while cast-in options are available for new construction. Project-specific structural calculations are provided for every installation.
DavitPro offers several base configurations to suit green roofs, membrane roofs, warm roofs façade installations, and new-build cast-in applications.
The correct fixing solution is selected based on your roof construction and structural requirements.
Bases - fixed socket positions with portable arms moved between locations
Rail - continuous façade access using arms that travel along a rail
Anchors - used where space or structural constraints prevent standard base installation
We help specify the right configuration for your building.
DavitPor requires a pre-use visual check and a detailed inspection at least every 12 months in line with LOLER and BS 8610.
Inspection records should be maintained to ensure ongoing compliance.
Yes. DavitPro should only be used by trained rope access or height safety professionals.
System-specific familiarisation and technical support can be provided where required.
